are my summer vacations.
Jon and I have had so much fun this summer. We have squeezed as much fun as possible into the months before Jon starts his last year of Architecture school. We still have a few weeks before school starts so we will probably squeeze in a bit more (Jons going to Alaska in a couple weeks) but for the most part I think our vacations are about over.
We will miss this view. Driving past the lavendar fields.
We will REALLY miss this...
Lake Powell
This is my Mom #2 Pat. She has had this awesome T-shirt ever since I can remember and it is a must have at Lake Powell with the Frei's. Hahaha she's a crack up!
Jon will miss constructing architectural wonders out of sand.
I will miss watching the boys slave in the hot sun shoveling dirt and carving with plastic forks while I float in the water with the girls sipping Diet Coke.
My "sister" Bevin. Can't you see the family resemblence? We NEVER get to hang out so it was so much fun to be stuck in the middle of Lake Powell together.
Now the very slighty older version of me and Bevin is my Mom and Pat (Bev's mom). They have been best friends since Bev and I were babies so they were in heaven being together again at Lake Powell. Pat and her husband just got back last month from being a mission president in Brazil for 3 years so this was a MUCH needed reunion. Aren't they babes??? Hope me and Bevin are that hot at 50.
And the always entertaining Water Wienie. Haha I am way too scared to ride it but it's really fun watching the brave boys go at it. Just as fun watching them try to get back on it after they fall.
Ah... such a fun summer. I love summer. We went straight to Moab to go River Rafting after Lake Powell but the only pictures I have are on a water proof disposable camera that I took on the river. Jon and I took a Kayak down the rapids and it was SO MUCH FUN! I was a little nervous when we started because I thought we would flip ourselves over for sure in a little Kayak but the rapids turned out too be pretty small so we survived. I will try to get the pictures developed and post them.
Jon and I were talking while we were floating down the river about how lucky we have been to be able to do so many fun things the past 4 years we have been married. We feel so so blessed to have had the time to be able to adventure and play together and to just enjoy being together, just Jon and I. It's really been nice... but hopefully we will not be just "Jon and I " for much longer... lets hope. :)
Anyway, we had an amazing time. Loved every minute of it, but it is good to be home again. I missed my little condo and my friends. Hope I see you all soon!

I am always amazed at the sand castles... this could rival the snow temples in Grandma Layne's front yard....
