Deep in the heart...

OF TEXAS! So I just got back from my trip to Texas to visit my brother Zak and his wife Kate and my brand spankin new baby niece Kennedy Rose! I had SO much fun on this short little adventure, big thanks to my Mom for letting me tag along and big thanks to Zak and Kate for letting us invade their lives and hog their beautiful new baby girl.

Daddy and daughter... this guy is so in love...
I loved this picture, she looks like she is putting up her little dukes, ready to fight!
I could have sat here for hours...
Happy parents
We did manage to pull ourselves off the baby to go see the Riverwalk in San Antonio, pretty cool little place...
And back to baby :) Pretty young lookin grandma dont ya think?

And the dress... Jon and I bought this dress for her in Mexico before she was born and I couldnt wait to see it on her! She is the most perfect, beautiful little girl, I love her to pieces already and cant wait to see her in a couple weeks! Thanks again Zak and Kate!!! Love you guys!
AND.... When I left for this trip my livingroom wall looked like this.... boooooorring!

When I got home it looked like this!! YAY! My hubby finished and put up our little project that we have been working on for the past couple weeks! I love how it turned out! We copied it from a piece that my aunt and uncle bought. Its pretty simple, just some wood blocks that Jon made, painted brown and the we used a little tool to chisel out the wood to make the design... I love how it turned out! The only problem is that it is centered on the chairs and not the wall, but it would look funny if it was centered on the wall and not the chairs... does it look funny?
I like it! Thanks Jon!!!

Heaven on earth

This 4th of July weekend Jon and I were lucky enough to enjoy the holiday at my favorite place on the whole earth, Lake Powell!! Its my heaven...

Now, a normal family would hop in their car and GLADLY drive the 6 hours from Salt Lake to get there, but my family would not have that this time...

My awesome brother sent THIS to come get us! What?! He is the nicest guy on the planet. He sent his plane to come pick us and a few other family friends up and 40 minutes later.... we arrived! (Thank you Thank you Jer!)
First things first at the lake. If you know me, you know my greatest joy is wakeboarding at Lake Powell so this is as good as it gets for me.
And Jon loves it too... just not with the same passion as me
This is my cute litle niece Bree, who loves her uncle Jon. Check out those baby blues...
And my oh so brave niece allie! That is a loooooong jump for such a little girl!

My Dad, too much fun for him to handle

Ryan and Danna... good friends from high school (Ryans sister married my brother so they are fam), just sittin there being awesome.

Jon getting a workout on the kayak. Those things are so much fun...

Now, what happens when you are at lake powell, and the weather changes... clouds come it, it gets a little chilly, a little rainy, no fun to play in the lake, what do you do?

You send the helicopter of course! Haha my family is crazy. My brother brought his big helicopter out, landed it on a rock in the middle of the lake and took us all for rides! So so fun!

see how much fun I'm having?

Ben and Bridget also enjoying the ride

But wait.... what happens when the "lake police" are not happy with you landing your big blue bird on their precious piece of rock? Well first you circle around them in your helicopter, making them helplessly follow you all over the lake, getting more and more angry with each change of direction... Oh yea, we did that. It was too funny... we could see them below us chasing us around so we would fly to the other side of the canyon, they would follow, then we would turnm around the other way, they would follow again, it was so funny... not nice or legal but funny.

So, when we have to eventually land, you can imagine that the lake police are not very happy with my brother the pilot. After about 2 hours of arguing, they give him a ticket and say you cant land out here anymore. So what does he do?

He says "fine" and goes to get the smaller chopper and lands it on his own dang land (meaning his houseboat) which is perfectly legal.

Oh so much fun. We are spoiled absolutely rotten! Thanks so so so much to Jer and Shar for providing such an amazing trip! We love you guys!
